Week 14 (11/26-11/30)

Friday November 30th
Today we had our weekly vocabulary quiz, explored more reading our story about Life in the Forest and checking our phonics of long u sounds.

HOMEWORK
1.Sign, correct and return quiz.

This week the test results:

100%- 10 students
90-99%- 1 students
<90%- 11 students
Total 23 students

Thursday November 29th
Today we explored further about Life in the Forest, vocabulary, past tense with -ed and u_e phonics.
We also wrote some short sentences to learn about sequencing.

HOMEWORK
1. Read Life in the Forest p148-153

2. Thursday worksheet

Tomorrow we will have weekly vocabulary test. This will include some spelling, fill in sentences and picture matching.


Wednesday November 28th
Today students studied English in their separate homerooms. I was away from school today taking the Grade 2 classes on a field trip. Therefore I was unable to check homework or communication books today. I will check all tomorrow. :-)

Tuesday November 27th
Today students studied English with their CET.

Monday November 26th
Today we began a new phonics focus: long u with u_e and long e with e_e. We also investigated new vocabulary and a little bit of our new story. We wrote some basic sentences using vocabulary words.

Week 13 (11/19-11/23)

Friday November 23rd
Today we looked at capitalizing proper nouns for names (Sam, Rebecca, Mr Cooper, Friday, November, Taipei), had some small group guided reading and practiced some new question format for our fortnightly story test.

HOMEWORK
1. RWN p273, 279, 280.



 
 
2. Check the quiz sent home. We are including some new format questions within the weekly tests. Seven students scored 100% or 96%. Some students were confused with some of the questions. We have decided to use this as a teaching and learning experience. For those students who did not perform well on today's practice test, there is an additional worksheet for the weekend to support their studies.

Today students studied English in their separate homerooms.

Today we completed our show and tell speaking tasks. We also had our weekly vocabulary quiz and wrote a short story about a dinosaur.
